Infinity

He asked again about infinity and you tried to explain.
He seems to be obsessed with forever and endless
the way that some children are about toys.

He asked me what thing has infinity
and I told him the stars.
I know a scientist or astronomer would correct me –
saying that the stars too, come to an end.

I could not give him the answer I wanted to –
that my love for him is infinite.
But, it is true, that when I think of forever and endless
it’s his face that comes to mind.
His face and yours, you and he are what
make up my infinity.
